Trixie Scrap Stars Hybrid Monday

Hello all!  Hope you had a great Easter, it was a quiet day here.  Hubs had to be out of town for work so things were pretty laid back.  We had the baskets and egg hunt, but it was rainy overnight so EB was kind enough to hide the eggs in the house this year.  My oldest has gotten into the Harry Potter books and so we’ve been watching the movies, I love the books, the movies, eeh, not so much.
Overall a nice relaxing day though.

I wanted to tell you about a little tutorial I wrote up on the
Trixie Scrap Stars blog about the tic-tac-toe board I made.

Using Trixie Scraps Sk8ter Boy kit:

Okay, see you over there!

Thanks for stopping by.

Trixie Scraps Speed Scrap

The Darling of Trixie Scraps, is hosting a Speed Scrap!!!

Yah!  I love her speed scraps, unlike some speed scraps I’ve attended in the past Tracy gets what I think is the best part of a speed scrap, which is to stretch your mind and trust the hostess to lead you to creating something you might not have created on your own.  I’ve have learned sooo much from speed scraps that challenge my normal style.  The biggest is that I have done different styles and still have a page that looks like something I’d make and want to keep!  (Very important in blind challenges like these, you don’t know what you’re going to end up with in the end.)  And also it ramped up my confidence to keep trying new things and advancing my abilities.
(You know they call them Speed Scrap Challenges for a reason.)

Oh….. did I say you don’t always know what you’ll end up with after some challenges, well dear readers this one challenge I know what I’ll end up with afterward, this:

Ta-daaaa!  How much better can it get that that?  New ideas and super freebies from Trixie Scraps, it just doesn’t get any better than that!  I hope to see you there!  I’ll have more details when we get a little closer, there aren’t any links in the ScrapMatters forum yet, but I’ll try to let you know as soon as I find something out.  But feel free to wonder through ScrapMatters anytime, it’s a super nice community with great things going on over there.

Sorry for leaving you hanging, sometimes I get a little extra ADH

D and forget to come back.  So here you go:

Isn’t this just the neatest kit you’ve seen in a while?  I know it is for me.  I love love the colors, everything about this kit is so fun!

I will be back with more from this kit soon!  I just love it, I’m thinking of some other uses for it other than layouts too, you know a little something to get myself organized with, but I’m gonna leave you hanging with that one.  Till then I hope you’re having a good day and we’ll talk again soon!

Trixie Scraps – Hot For Teacher

Happy President’s Day everyone!  I know, not a greeting you get much is it?  I got to work with Trixie Scraps – Hot For Teacher.  It’s a collab with simply.scraps and it’s so much fun.

I immediately loved it because it has my high school’s colors in it and my mind went to work.  Thinking of all the ways I could document my high school memories.  Unfortunately I can’t seem to find many of my pics from high school.  Maybe my mom has the negatives in a box somewhere?  Gotta put that on my list of things to ask her about.  But luckily I have made up (in a way) with the subject and he posted some old photos on his Facebook page.

So this layout is very personal, it’s not the complete story of course only a few of us need to know all the details, but someday when my memory is completely gone, this will be enough. ;o)

This is one of those times when you think back and how
high school might not have been that bad… (sigh).
Those summer nights of youth, to be that confident again.

My second layout, I thought were perfect colors of my boys on their first day of school this year.  I remember my mom took our picture the first day of school for years.  I’m not sure when it stopped, probably when we were old enough to get ourselves up and out the door after she’d left for work.  So is the life of a single mom, but I’m sure that was in my high school years.

LO #2 Amazing Ruler

I almost forgot!  Trixie’s new kit:

I get to play with this next!!!!!  There is so much good stuff in here you just have to see it for yourself.
And you can get all this great stuff for just $3.50!

Trixie Scraps – Yuletide

Christmas season is definitely here and it’s cold outside! Nothing better than snuggling down with the laptop and my snuggie and making some pages of those sweet Christmas memories to get into the holiday spirit.  Tracy’s created a beautiful kit called Yuletide, formerly her Black Friday Grab Bag, we can now reveal the contents.

(All images linked)

Using Yuletide and the pieces above I made these:

I just love the look on my little guy’s face in this one as he spots the presents underneath the tree.

And oh my, my oldest one so handsome here, he’s 10 now!!!!
Where does the time go??

Thanks for stopping by!!
