Happy 4th of July and my freebies

Happy 4th of July everyone!  I have been a very busy girl with tons to show you.  And since it’s The Fourth I’ll start with the Americana…

First up, cause well she released first, not playing favorites or nothing here, is Trixie Scraps “Old Glory Collab” with Sarah Bennett

Available at:
ScrapMatters           Gotta Pixel            Trixie Scraps

A simple card yes, but it’s also the start towards my goal.  What goal is that?  To start making cards for Operation Write Home.  (Formerly know as Cards for Heroes.)

A fantastic nonprofit group who’s simple mission is: “Supporting our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them.”

I hope ya’ll will go check them out and if you can’t contribute cards maybe send a little donation, it doesn’t take much money to send off their boxes and every little bit helps, because they are not just reboxing.  They are sorting, checking, and fixing up cards injured in shipment.  Or worse, did you know glitter can kill??  Glitter is really the only no-no at OWH (other than death images, go figure) because glitter can get on a soldiers uniform and basically will show up in the enemy’s night vision goggles.  Yah really!!
So no glitter for the soldiers please.

You’ll be seeing lots more from me on this in the future, not sure (and I’m not being sarcastic, this time anyway) why this has taken such a spot in my heart, could be an almost lifetime spent as an Air Force brat, spouse and now ANG supporter oh and those many years spent as a government employee too.  You just get it in your blood and can’t shake it, I guess.  Plus it will be a great way to use of the obscene stash of paper goodies I have accumulated (and keep buying although I rarely use them like I should) over the years and now rarely use since the switch to digi.  And a great place to send my hybrid “samples” to also.  So please check them out.

Ok, so shall we continue?…..

Melly Scraps has a Fourth themed kit too,
this one is a tad more masculine and I love it too.

By dawn’s early light are those worn edge papers I see?!? {swoon}  And some lovely word bits too?

And check out the Rugged Alpha included with kit!
And an add on alpha that’s just too fun!

And now for the first freebie,
I’m made a QP of my Rugged Americana layout.

Then we have Trixie Scraps “My Summer Garden” oh, I love this one!  I really enjoy by veggie garden, I’m kind of a girly girl that I don’t particularly like my hands dirty but once I get over myself I’m all in, except the grass part, allergic to grass, kinda take some of the fun out.

And on the Make It Hybrid Monday Post at the Trixie Scraps Stars CT page I made a recipe card freebie.

Scamper over and check it out.  And BTW every other week I do a new post of hybrid goodness, and the ladies on the team are doing posts everyday, some fun challenges with great prizes plus great freebies and lots of great stuff happens all the time over there so please swing by and check out the fun.

And that’s where I’m going to wrap things up with you today.  I have some great things coming up that I can’t wait to finish so I can show you.  Like:  I got a hybrid guest spot with Amy Stoffel of Scrap Orchard and I’m so excited to show you the little something I made with the kit she’s releasing later this week.

And of course the dear Lady Janice of Scrapper’s Delights has an Alice In Wonderland inspired kit, that’s just too much!  Oh I can’t wait to finish up my LO’s (and at least one hybrid) so I can show you.

I’m sure I had more going on last month than this, but talking about all the stuff I need to do has me itching to get started so off I go!

Sending my wishes that you and your family have a fun and safe holiday weekend!! (Wear sunscreen, ear protection and have bucket of water ready to put out the flames!)  We’ll see you again soon!
