theStudio NDC: Week 2 Freebies

Congrats to me I made it through to week 2, but unfortunately because I chose to spend the weekend cleaning out and moving things around I ran out of time to get my entry done and in on time. (Missed it by about 30 minutes!)

I was so mad at myself you can’t even imagine, still mad to tell you the truth. Especially since no one around here seemed to appreciate anything I’d done. Granted it was long over due but….

Anyway, I digress, everything happens for a reason, right? So since I had made the kit for the competition, I couldn’t very well not share my work. The theme was summer afternoon and we could pick our own palette too!

I was totally inspired by the feel and the palette of the land my inlaws have farmed for many many years and what a wonderful time we had the summer I took this photo, coincidentally it was the summer we got married too.

theStudio NDC: Week 1 Freebie

Squeeeeee!!! I’m so excited!!! It’s week one of theStudio Next Designer Contest and I got my entry in on time and I think (?) I may have done it right!! As in, hopefully I didn’t miscount my elements or anything.

Our assignment for the first week was an interesting color palette of pastels, blues, pinks, purples and gray. And the theme “Daybreak”. We could name it whatever but we were to try to stay in the theme of daybreak. (I sooo have a Barry Manilow song stuck in my head, and an odd mental imagine of him jazz handing and high kicking down a glittery stage lit set of stairs.)

I thought about “Morning Has Broken” but that wasn’t really the inspiration I needed either, then it hit me…. a little bit of an old Folger’s commerical, then the music started… cue Jimmy Durant….. a little “Sleepless in Seattle” moment hit me.

bum bum… bum bumbum bum…. bum bum… bum bumbum bum…. {Make Someone Happy intro, then fade into Carly Simon}… in the wee small hours of the morning, when the rest of the world is fast asleep…

Whirl them all up in a blender that is my brain and you get…..

What I’ve been up to lately….

First it seems I’ve been on a beachy kit buying spree lately! Which makes no sense living in Minnesota, and have really only been to the beach once in my life, that I really remember, so I guess I’m just wishful thinking, hee-hee. But I bet these will be great for all the aquarium visiting pix and Hub’s SCUBA diving days.

(In this group of beachy stuff I don’t CT for any of these designers I just have to show you this awesomeness! Cause it’s not so much about who we CT for as it is about the memories we are keeping, right?)

It kinda started on iNSD (Inter National Scrapbook Day) in May when I found “Paradise Found” by One Little Bird. I love her shadows tutorial, which if you haven’t checked out is pretty fantastic and worth a peek. I was so inspired I made my own styles in CS! Here’s a pretty straight forward link if you’re interested in making your own too.

(I know it’s not a great preview of the kit, but I can’t get it from her store, this is the preview I got with the kit.)z
Isn’t that way the greatest? That’s the single biggest reason I bought the kit, I couldn’t get that fantastic wave out of my head, it’s sooo gonna be a siggie soon!

And as you can tell from my blog decorations, I am a HUGE Kristin Aagard fan (huge I tell ya!) and she has the stinkin’ cutest little “shots”…

That of course coordinates with the After Five Designer’s Collab “Paradise Found”.

Making decisions sucks!

Had to make a decision yesterday (Sunday) that will probably cost me in regards to my Digi-Scrapland friendships and future opportunities. If you're one of those people and are unfriending me on Facebook or unfollowing me on Twitter because of it, don't worry (not that you were) I understand and thank you for the time I had you as a friend.

I've probably burned at least one bridge because of my decision, if not more. I'm not proud of that. I feel really bad but I think that bridge has been smoldering for sometime, should have read the smoke signals earlier. Ripping it off like a bandaid and separating myself was the only way it could think to do it. I've got to put my family first and I've only been putting off the decision for some time now. I finally hit the tipping point I guess.

I took some time to step back and reassess and then reassessed again and my boys and Hubs keep coming up with the short end of the stick, not to mention the lovely lady I was working with. So I had to make a choice, and I think it's for the best, my hybrids were crap and always have been. Confidence can only get you so far, you actually have to make something somebody wants. So I'll get some sleep (I hope) and start again tomorrow and see where the path I'm on now takes me.

I know I took the coward's way out but it was time for me to leave, I'd worn out my welcome and didn't feel the trust I know I deserved was there. The aftermath of this could be brutal, I may lose a spot on some CTs as a result, but at this point I guess I have to take like a big girl and life will go on.

Never let anyone tell you hybrid is cheap, especially the number of projects I do in a month! I had a designer (a different one) that recognized this and would paypal me a nominal amount to take the bite out of the cost of supplies, that’s the way to do it IMO. Add the time to create a project, plus printing (ink and paper) plus time to assemble (cost of adhesives) then photographing the projects, (oh don’t forget the props) time spent processing those photos and then uploading to a zillion galleries (there’s got to be a better way to do the gallery thing I tell ya!) I see now why there are so few hybrid CT gals out there. Did I have to do all those projects? No not really, but I chose to, because I hate to say no to anyone or any challenge that comes my way. And I was honestly just whoring myself out to get attention hoping they’d buy my designs, for better or worse, and in turn burning myself out. So no one bought the designs and I got burnt out any way, yah me?

So I will pack up my sucky projects and concentrate on quality over quantity and hope this new direction doesn’t lead me to junctions where I have to traverse crossing those burnt bridges. What else can I do?

Thank you for listening to my ramblings, and my whining. Time to catch some z’s, get rid of this horrible migraine, process the bad news my Hubs finally dumped on me after holding in in for literally months and hopefully just rest.

Happy New Year! And Amy Stoffel news!!

Hey ya’ll!! Happy New Year!

What a crazy year so far, I’m working working working on resetting up my computer. I had a horrible crash the weekend before Christmas. It’s just been heart wrenching, and sooooo much worse than anyone can every describe it. We all think that we can get around it. That we’ll never have that problem, well, sorry to tell you but wishing does not make it not happen.

My dear Hubs got the laptop back to work with my original hard drive but that won’t get me back some fantastic sledding pics and my littlest’s holiday program…. {{sigh}} HUGE thanks to my dear sweet wonderful mother-in-law, with her generosity I’m set back up again with a brand new desktop. (I sooo don’t deserve such a wonderful lady in my life!!) And bonus on top of bonus we are now the proud owner of a Clickfree backup system!! I love this thing, no brainer on the backing up, super easy set up. This is a good thing!

And there is a TON of memory on this desktop that I can’t wait to fire up on something. But I was under the impression that my older versions PSE didn’t work with Windows 7, so I got myself a copy of PSE 9 when it was on sale, turns out that the older might just work, problem is I don’t have the serial number and so I’m stuck with my 9 and I don’t like it. I heart PSE 5 so much and miss it sorely, so maybe some sifting through crap in the basement I’ll find it, but till I guess I’ll just shut up and learn the darn thing if I wanna scrap at all, which I want to do so desperately I can’t stand it.

So wish me luck!

Brownie Scraps Survivor kit available now!!

Hello everyone! First thank you to everyone that voted, we won!!

Yay Team Brown!!

Second, the kits from week one are ready!! Everyone was assigned a portion, I was given:

Three solid papers, and one each: frame, word art, ric rac, flower, button and metallic object. All items were made with no CU and windows standard fonts. Whew! That was tough, but I think I did well.

Trixie Scraps CT Call

I can tell you these are a great group of ladies and fantastic supportive team to be on, so if you’re interested now’s your chance to join in! You’ve seen the great things I’ve made with Trixie’s kits, just think of what you could do!!

Trixie Scraps is having a CT Call to fill some job openings on her team! She only has one big call like this per year, so make sure you send your application in! A simple card yes, but it’s also the start towards my goal. What goal is that? To start making cards for Operation Write Home. (Formerly know as Cards for Heroes.)

A fantastic nonprofit group who’s simple mission is: “Supporting our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them.”

I hope ya’ll will go check them out and if you can’t contribute cards maybe send a little donation, it doesn’t take much money to send off their boxes and every little bit helps, because they are not just reboxing. They are sorting, checking, and fixing up cards injured in shipment. Or worse, did you know glitter can kill?? Glitter is really the only no-no at OWH (other than death images, go figure) because glitter can get on a soldiers uniform and basically will show up in the enemy’s night vision goggles. Yah really!!
So no glitter for the soldiers please.

You’ll be seeing lots more from me on this in the future, not sure (and I’m not being sarcastic, this time anyway) why this has taken such a spot in my heart, could be an almost lifetime spent as an Air Force brat, spouse and now ANG supporter oh and those many years spent as a government employee too. You just get it in your blood and can’t shake it, I guess. Plus it will be a great way to use of the obscene stash of paper goodies I have accumulated (and keep buying although I rarely use them like I should) over the years and now rarely use since the switch to digi. Sad Week for me…

Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted, you won’t believe the weeks I’ve been having. The Memorial Day weekend was nice, a little overcast but the few days before had given us in Upper Nowhere Land Minnesota a taste of summer and it’s been a few years since we’ve had any of that. And so I was actually excited to get out and get my fingers in the dirt. I was pretty jealous that the Super Stylish Jodiann had strawberries already (see this post) and I barely had greenery in my yard! So we’ve been hitting the greenhouses and farmer’s market with a fury to get our garden started. And of course no one had much of anything. The one time you depend on them to have something because they always have, they don’t!

So we were distracted but noticed that our puppy, Bronwyn (just over a year old) wasn’t eating much. I chalked it up to hormones, she was coming off a heat (I know bad pet owner!) but it didn’t seem to stop. She was never a huge eater but she could when she wanted to. Well this went on all weekend, but she was drinking, and kept trying to eat grass in the yard, but of course once she was inside started to throw it back up.

We tried everything and anything, short of Gatorade, rice, little rice balls with beef stock, table scraps, anything to get her to eat. I got her to take a little yogurt, thinking it may have been a tummy thing. Well, I finally gave in because she wasn’t showing signs of improvement, in fact she didn’t want to even go out anymore. (Never a good sign!) So I got her into the vet Wednesday morning.

Can we run some tests? Probably a piece of toy caught in her belly, she was quite the vigorous chewer, most times she rowlfed the pieces back up but this time wasn’t happening. Of course, xray says nothing, can we do a barium scan and bloodwork? It could be parvo or an UTI. I say, how about a barium, got to be a toy I kept telling myself. Well I had to call the sweetest mother in law on the planet and ask for help, I was ready to skip this month’s mortgage payment and let the pieces fall where they may but she said she knew how important those silly critters are too us and she knew it’s what we’d want to do.

So with financial backing after they said we need to surgery because what we put in (the barium) ain’t coming back out and her tummy was huge now. (Got to be a toy and they’ll get it out and my baby will come home, breathe, repeat.) A while into the surgery the doc calls, it appears as though poor sweetie has taken in a large amount of dental floss at some point in her young life, and now said floss is cutting her inside up and through her tummy and small intestine. I’m sure she consumed it a little more than year ago when miss thing decided it was time to give up her sweet puppy (ie: "if i don’t find anyone to take it I’ll dump her in the woods” – true story – there are idiots out there that still do that crap.)

So now I’m mad, I know it didn’t come from here but we told the Doc if she thought Bronwyn could handle it cut it out, if not we are not worth sticking around for. Well they cut, she was up the next morning wanting to be walked because she’s a good girl that would never “go” in her kennel. And they gave her the meds for the morning and by the time we got in to see her she was pretty out of it. We talked to her for a while and told her if it hurt too much she could go ahead and go and our Polly (another tragic story of dogs loved and lost) would be waiting for her.

We didn’t get to see the doc while we were there, it was pretty busy and so after an hour or waiting I figured they better get her back on her IV and I went home to wait for the doc’s call. About 2 he called to say she was gone, it was just too much for her. So my little girl is gone and there’s a big hole in my heart, I miss my little house shadow (she followed me everywhere) but I’m glad she’s not trying to hobble through for my benefit.

So here’s my little tribute to my girl.

Of course because I never stop scrapping, I want to give credit to Jodiann for the effects in the picture, the wings are made with Robot Princess Styles and the lettering is Clear Cover Styles over a peachy pink base.

So glad I haven’t taken the plastic off the windows yet but the good news is the heater hasn’t been on for a few weeks so that good right?

Of course that could explain the horrible sinus thingy/cold I have right now, hmmm… hopefully only a few more days of dragging this tissue box around the house. The Hubs isn’t too upset about the snow, it wasn’t enough to shovel and he got out of mowing the yard this weekend! I just hope my flowers survive this strange weather pattern, my daffydills were coming up beautifully and some darling tulips (my fav) had just begun to poke their heads out. And my little bleeding heart was doubling by the day I should have thrown a bucket over it before bed Friday night, well if it’s still kicking I’ll do it tonight.

Bragging Day 4/20 – Jodiann Styles

So today I’m going to brag a little… about Jodiann,
I’m mentioned the lovely Jodiann before.

Well as a member of her Elite CTC Team (cue Mission Impossible Theme music) I get to try out the super cool styles she makes, post them on the web for all to see and then step back and allow her to take all the credit, cause let be honest here, she did all the real
work I’m just playing. (…and bongo drums out!)

And here’s what I made….

Isn’t she the cutest? So tough, but still so sweet.
I love tagger templates, so much fun to play with and you end up with these cute little things, perfect for card fronts. One thing to remember with Tagger supplies - they are saved in 72dpi, much lower then normal digiscrap supplies are saved at 300dpi, but you knew that, so if you’re going to use the templates make sure you save them the higher dpi for better print quality. But tagger kits will be all 72 dpi, I haven’t tried printing with any so be warned.

This is Hope and she’s a Digital Stamp from Whimsie Doodles. I love digistamps too. Between the tagger templates and the digistamps you could make yourself up a mess of cards in no time! Print – cut - fold and viola! you’re ready for anything!

So for this one I used Jodiann’s Chalkies-Vickie’s Beach Styles on all the layers of Hope. (She didn’t come with layers,as most digi stamps don’t. If you’re interested in learning about this I can write it up, just leave me a note in the comments.) I copied the layer of her bandana and added the Cute Dot Style and did the same with the sneakers but did a layer of the Light Dot Style first then the Cute Dot each on a separate layer adjusting the opacity of each as I needed to get the look I wanted.

A hint on using styles in small spaces, like Hope’s bandana and such. Do each color as a layer, for this I filled with gray then applied the style, if the style’s graphic was too large for the item, in this case I only got two dots on an area that small when I wanted lots, I just grabbed a corner of the layer and drug it out till I was satisfied with the scale of the dots filling the bandana and then I simplified the layer and drug the corner back in till it was the right size again, lined it up and went on the the next. Does that make sense? If not leave me a comment and I will write up a little something to explain better. :o)

The background shapes are filled with the Dot Cute, Chalkies and Robot Princess again then simplified and shadowed. The background is the Gelly Hearts over a layer of Chalkies.

Trixie Scrap Stars Hybrid Monday

Hello all! Hope you had a great Easter, it was a quiet day here. Hubs had to be out of town for work so things were pretty laid back. We had the baskets and egg hunt, but it was rainy overnight so EB was kind enough to hide the eggs in the house this year. My oldest has gotten into the Harry Potter books and so we’ve been watching the movies, I love the books, the movies, eeh, not so much.
Overall a nice relaxing day though.

Happy Easter Hybrid Freebie

Hello All, are you ready for the weekend of fun, egg hunts and bunnies?? Well we’re gearing up here and with the help of the Lovely Lady Janice of Scrapper’s Delights and Spectacular Jodiann and her Super Styles I have made a hybrid freebie for you.

I used a stack of Jodiann’s Styles and Scrapper’s Delights “Morning Dew.” I know, a little different for me (a lot! different for me.) But sometimes you just go where the spirit moves you. Religious art is is not my usual style and likely to be the only one of its kind. I made it thinking it’d make a nice little something for the Grandma’s (my Mom and DMIL) so now I offer it to you. Last minute “Thinking of You” for the pastor or his wife, Grandma, Mom… whoever.

There are three on a page. I went both ways with my demo just plain ole cut out and I also matted it on a piece of plain purple cardstock, then laminated it and added a tail.

Trixie Scraps Speed Scrap

The Darling of Trixie Scraps, is hosting a Speed Scrap!!!

Yah! I love her speed scraps, unlike some speed scraps I’ve attended in the past Tracy gets what I think is the best part of a speed scrap, which is to stretch your mind and trust the hostess to lead you to creating something you might not have created on your own. I’ve have learned sooo much from speed scraps that challenge my normal style. The biggest is that I have done different styles and still have a page that looks like something I’d make and want to keep! (Very important in blind challenges like these, you don’t know what you’re going to end up with in the end.) And also it ramped up my confidence to keep trying new things and advancing my abilities.
(You know they call them Speed Scrap Challenges for a reason.)

Oh….. did I say you don’t always know what you’ll end up with after some challenges, well dear readers this one challenge I know what I’ll end up with afterward, this:

Ta-daaaa! How much better can it get that that? New ideas and super freebies from Trixie Scraps, it just doesn’t get any better than that! I hope to see you there! Good Grief Layout 3

So if anyone has been reading this you’ll know my Dear Father-In-Law passed a year ago. It’s been a long tough year. I go back and forth in my emotions about it. Most days are pretty mellow, I miss him but I can manage. And then there are days I cry at everything. Well this month’s challenge at Good Grief was to tell a story without photos. (These are not my first layouts for Good Grief Challenges about Dad.) And I had the perfect kit for it.

I do scrap with kits that are not CT requirements.)
It’s a lovely but odd kit with beautiful flowers and moody dark backgrounds, but it’s the windmills that sold me on this kit for this project. Dad always called my DMIL his “little dutchmen” why it wasn’t dutch girl I’ll never understand, but anyway I’m getting off point. So with the windmill and the beautiful flowers which I thought at first were tulips, but are in fact poppies I created a sweet tribute that I could get some emotions out and accurately portray my feeling with. And the horses, horses always make me think of Dad.

Journaling says:
Dear Dad,
A year has slipped by since you left us so suddenly. I can't tell you how much I miss you, because I have never felt like this before. It often hits me out of seemingly nowhere. Somedays it does not hurt to remember, but most days it does. Somedays I hate you for that, and then I get mad at myself for that. There is nothing to hate you for, you would not have left if you had been given the choice. You worked your whole life, day after tiring day, rarely complaining, crappy farmers wages. But you made sure Mom would be taken care of. I just wish I had appreciated you more when I had the chance, and that is just a shame, I miss you so much.

I like this challenge because I’m in a phase right now of writing letters I have no intention of sending. It’s a nice outlet for my emotions. I can express those feelings we were told all our lives that nice girls shouldn’t feel or dare speak about and it helps me through a lot of things.

Trixie Scraps – Hot For Teacher

Happy President’s Day everyone! I know, not a greeting you get much is it? I got to work with Trixie Scraps – Hot For Teacher. It’s a collab with simply.scraps and it’s so much fun.

I immediately loved it because it has my high school’s colors in it and my mind went to work. Thinking of all the ways I could document my high school memories. Unfortunately I can’t seem to find many of my pics from high school. Maybe my mom has the negatives in a box somewhere? Gotta put that on my list of things to ask her about. But luckily I have made up (in a way) with the subject and he posted some old photos on his Facebook page.

So this layout is very personal, it’s not the complete story of course only a few of us need to know all the details, but someday when my memory is completely gone, this will be enough. ;o)

This is one of those times when you think back and how
high school might not have been that bad… (sigh).
Those summer nights of youth, to be that confident again.

My second layout, I thought were perfect colors of my boys on their first day of school this year. I remember my mom took our picture the first day of school for years. I’m not sure when it stopped, probably when we were old enough to get ourselves up and out the door after she’d left for work. So is the life of a single mom, but I’m sure that was in my high school years.

Scrapper’s Delights – True Romance

Well, as you all probably know by now, I’ve fallen head over heels for Scrapper’s Delights products! I can’t help myself they are just too cute! And if you’ve been reading my blog for any amount of time, once I clamp on to a designer I believe in I don’t let go. See my Winter’s Magic post for the first in what will probably be a long series of gushings about Janice’s super cute kits.

Well this month she released a super romantic Valentine’s kit
that just so classy you’ve got to see it.

Now before you say anything, yes I know my layouts are not Valentine-y. The hubs is not a huge fan of having his picture
taken so there’s not many I haven’t used in other layouts
already so I went the opposite direction and wanted to
show the versatility of this kit.
(And I just have to be difficult/different and not follow the theme.)

Maybe a little explanation would help this one, I’m a big George Burns fan more of a crush actually. I wanted to make this a “born too late” kind of thing, but I couldn’t find a pic of me with George (from Madame Tussaud’s of course) but the cards in the background easily lent to the playing card Janice included with the kit so I just went where it lead me. I made the cards by stretching the red background a little and clipping it to the card face, to keep the shape consistent. Then I added a Vegas style card back with the black velvet alpha included with the kit. A little outer glow and Rickles font and voila! we have perfectly Vegas inspired tribute to a wax idol.

Melly Scraps – Puzzled

Oh, such a bad blogger, I’ve just been playing with all the goodies and not sharing the fun with you.

I’ve got to tell you about this new toy I’ve got from the wonderful Melly, Puzzled Photo Masks. This is sooo much fun I can’t even tell you, and Melly’s made it so easy that… well even I can do it! ha-ha!

You’ve gotta see what I’ve made so far (well other than the stunning sunset photo in the example above, he-he.) When the Sweet Melly asked to include it in her product packaging and I (of course) said yes! My dreams of the next Thomas Mangelson is starting to come true! And if you don’t know who he is you’ve got to check out his absolutely stunning photography, here’s my favorite.

We have a fancy framed up version in our living room, I love it so much. She reminds me of my dear sweet old lady dog, Raskal.

Can you see the resemblance? The salesman at the gallery said that the bear is a female that had spent the morning down on the river scarfing down salmon after salmon during their up river run and crawled herself up to this old log and settled down for a long nap. Whether that’s true or not I don’t know but I love this picture and a “story” is always nice, but isn’t that what scrapbooking all about?

So anyway back to Melly, and here fab new toy. Now I know this goes with out saying but this is great tool for ANY kit you already own, but of course I will show you my examples using Melly’s super fantastic and versatile products, because that’s how I roll!

On this one I put a little perspective “magic” on the puzzle field, which is super easy to do in Elements and I think it helps the illusion of the pieces falling into place.

I want to mention that these masks do work in Elements (I had some problems with E5 but I know it will work with E6,
but that’s all probably operator error ;o) ) And of course with the real version of Photoshop it will work too. Melly has written up some super simple directions so you can “make it work!” and if not you can contact her via email (in the info kit) or leave me a comment here and see what I can do to help you or I’ll get you to Melly.

Seems about right…

I’m not sure who wrote this but I found this online today and she didn’t know where it came from either, so I will share with you. I’m calling it A Crafter’s Christmas…

Twas the night before Christmas,
I’m glued to the tree.
I’m wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or ink pads or lace?
Or some stamps, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that’s when I heard him ... “Hi Santa” I said
He replied, “You know ... good girls should be in their beds”.
“I know I should Santa and now I’ve been caught.
But I was just so excited to see what you brought”
“Well, let’s take a look in this room where you work”.
He shook his head quickly, and left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear.
“You’ve got enough crap, I’ll see you next year!”

Melly’s on Facebook

Melly has made a fan page on Facebook! And if you become a fan before Dec 28th you can get a set of cards made with her new Retro Christmas kit! (Not saying anything but I may have made one or two or maybe three of them!) It may be too late to get Christmas cards to our loved one’s in the the mail, but several of the cards have openings for photos would make fantastic Thank You cards for you or the kids! Hello all! Can you believe Christmas is almost here? It must be getting close I started on my Christmas cards this week! Haha!

Winter Magic by Scrapper’s Delights

Before we start the layouts I want to show you this, from the Better Homes' and Gardens Christmas Decorations slideshow:

My boys and house critters (dogs and cats) would have this thing stripped in minutes!! I can’t even imagine what torture this must be for the children who live in that house! Because if you start eating the tree before Christmas, you’ve ruined the decorations, so

you gotta wait till at least Christmas morning after you’ve taken all the pix of opening presents, right? Well maybe we could start on the backside for now….

Umm with a diabetic in the house I guess it’s best not to even entertain the idea. I’m seriously debating the Second Annual Gingerbread House display. We started the tradition last year and I hoped to keep it going, the boys had so much fun decorating their little house I made for them out of graham crackers, and this year my DMIL picked me up some Wilton cookie cutters that cut out the house shape for you so no messing with patterns. I’m so excited, we picked up buckets of candy at the dollar store yesterday, but now I’m unsure if I should put that much temptation out for the hubs. Maybe we can make a nice one for each of the boy’s classes Christmas party next week, that will get the bug out of my system, but they won’t get all the fun they had last year, hmmm decisions, there’s always sugar free candies, but I’m not real big fan of the taste or the effects. So we’ll see, I just have to hide them maybe.

So I HAVE to show you this super fun kit from Scrapper’s Delights, it’s new this month and I got to play with it, I had so much fun!! I’ve said it before and I know I will say it again I’ve very nervous of fantasy kits, but in the end I have soooo much fun with them that I don’t know why I get so nervous, it’s kind of freeing to have an imaginary world where you can do what you want. So here’s what I came up with for Winter Magic, the little fairies in the kit are sooo stinkin’ cute (and kinda hot too!) that I couldn’t resist. I’m gonna make The Hubs a new backdrop for his computer with these pretty girlies too! ;o)

This is our house this year, we switched to LED icicle lights last year, this year I found the blue so we mixed them up, let me tell you what, there isn’t a spot in the front yard you can’t see, these suckers light up the place! And with all those penguins in the front yard, you gotta make sure they are seen. (LOVE penguins!)

This is my oldest boy over his first four Christmases, I love the bow on the top of his head and the crazy hair as he rips wrapping paper apart in front of the tree, and that is our tree actually. Janice put some gorgeous trees in the kit, but to keep it realistic (ha!) I added ours. Best tree I’ve ever had, it’s fiber optic so no lights to string!! I rarely put ornaments on, with little hands, inquisitive kitty paws, and lab’s tails, there’s just no keeping ornaments safe. So I hang a garland of green on the wall or across the curtain rod and hang them from that. Keeps them safe because you never want to find your dog eating the kid’s macaroni art ornament.

Well, that’s about it for today, tomorrow I am the bearer of Trixie Scrap’s present for her 4th day of The Twelve Days Of Christmas. I can’t wait to show you! But run over to Trixie’s today and get caught up on all the lovelies the ladies have made so far.

Oh and one last thing, the brilliant Melly has a new Retro Christmas kit coming out I just can’t wait to show you what I made…. but you have to wait till Friday!

Oh my, what great things have been happening to me…

First, let me say I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted. Time just slips through my finger and I don’t know where it gets to. New boy appointments and me appointments and housework and all those things I should be doing but I’m just to worn out to do start stacking up and you just don’t know where to start…..

But in the time since I’ve been here I’ve added TWO new CT responsibilities!!!! (And dropped one but it’s all good.)

I am now a member of Melly Scraps CT and it’s so great! I fell in love with her Icing kit way many moons ago but hesitated on buying it and then all that stuff went down that eventually took down Digital Candy (still a little sad and confused about all that) and so bye-bye when Melly’s shop. Well, she is back and set up at Digi Scraps Drive-In and has some fabulous things!! Her CT is a little small right now but we’ll take care of her while she climbs to the top. (I will follow this post with some fabulousness from Melly.)

And just this week I was picked to join Trixie Scraps fabulous team too!!! Wow how much better can it get than to get to work with either of these great ladies?!?!?! I also loved Tracy’s work from DC and followed her around after she took up at Scrap Matters (a really nice shop too) and voila, a few months later here I am a new CT member on a great team.

Add that to Redju and the combined talents of the Designers at Enchanted Studio Scraps (who can I mention now is planning and all out super shindig for their birthday in January!!!) any way, I have a FULL plate of super kits to work with and I am going to try harder to get everything up here in a more timely manner. So watch for my little site to under a little makeover, I just had a thought for a fabulous new look so I better get to getting my blogging done so I can get to making!

Thanks for your patience and hold on to your mouse because (hopefully) the updates will come streaming through fast and furious till I get caught up! Thank you again!!

Well, sad to say, but I didn’t make it to round 3 of the Next SAS-y Lady at Stone Accent Studios, but it’s ok. I first want to thank everyone who did download any of my kits, what a rush to see all those downloads, and they are still being downloaded!! I’m so excited that ya’ll took the time to check out my work. I hope the kit is working well for you, I’d love to see what you make with them!

Your comments and well wishes were lovely and I truly appreciate them. I’ve whet my appetite for designing and I excited to keep going. But in the mean time I wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to get what I’ve made so far.

Week Two!

Well I squeaked by to make it into Week Two of the SAS-y Lady Competition. This weeks kit was to based on a color that was a dark pink (BA3175, for those playing at home.) And the theme Best Friends. Well, I made my take about Military Families. Here’s what I came up with….

There are a few extra elements in the picture because well, I forgot what I was doing and put too many things in the preview, but was running out of time and so I had to scramble to reupload to 4shared so the preview didn’t get adjusted. The add-ons will be up tomorrow for you to download, I’ve run out of time this afternoon and need to go vote in the local primaries, start dinner then I will be back to put it all together for your downloading pleasure. So please stop by tomorrow for that.

Hello and Welcome to my blog. I’ve created this blog to highlight my digiscrap designs. Wait till you see what I’ve been up.

Thanks to Stone Accent Studios, I’ve jumpstarted my quest to design digiscrapbook kits. Tomorrow I will upload my very first mini-kit. I’m so excited I can’t wait to show, so I will start with a sneaky peak!
